The Level Up Letter - Vol. 39 - Get Your Head Out

Start facing the things you've been avoiding

THE LEVEL UP LETTER

Hi All!
Here is your weekly Level Up Letter. This week we’re talking about facing the things we’ve been avoiding. Big or small. It’s time to pull your head out of…the sand. We hope you enjoy!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND

When we feel stuck, a lot of times it’s because we’re not facing the thing we know we need to face. The hard conversation, dealing with our finances, asking for an opportunity etc. etc. etc. It’s easier to keep our head in the sand and pretend that things are fine.

Can’t get worse if I don’t see it right? Well….hate to break it to you, but avoiding the issue is making it worse. Your debt is snowballing, that employee is building resentment, you’re settling for mediocre or you’re holding yourself back from doing something great.

We promise that whatever it is you’re avoiding, is probably much worse in your head than it is in reality. One of our favorite things is seeing our clients break through their avoidance. Be it tackling their credit card debt or finally creating something they were afraid to try. Big or small, once they face it, they always feel better.

BREAK THROUGH THE AVOIDANCE

  1. Small Steps: Break daunting tasks into smaller, manageable steps. This makes starting less intimidating and provides a clear path forward.

  2. Set Deadlines: Create real deadlines for yourself, and if possible, share them with someone who will hold you accountable.

  3. Understand the Why: Reflect on the reasons behind your avoidance. Understanding your fears can help you address them directly.

  4. Reward Progress: Set up a system to reward yourself for taking steps to confront your challenges. This could be as simple as a small treat for making a tough phone call.

THIS WEEK’S CHALLENGE

Choose one thing you've been avoiding. Outline the first three small steps you can take to address it within the next week. Commit publicly if possible and find someone to check in on your progress or hold you accountable.

Remember, avoidance may offer temporary comfort, but facing challenges head-on is the key to unlocking true growth and satisfaction.
