FRUSTRATION IN THE GAP

If you’re ambitious and driven it’s easy to live in what Dan Sullivan calls, “The Gap.” The zone between where you are now and what your ideal state is. If you’re only measuring where you are now, against where you want to be, you’ll never get there. Worse, you’ll never feel happy.

The trick is to measure “The Gain.” Meaning, you need to measure from where you’ve started, to where you are today. This is a big reason we hold Quarterly Reviews after the BBM Bootcamp. The progress people make in just 90 days is incredible. It should be celebrated and built upon.

If you’re able to keep your wins in mind and realize how far you come, you’ll make more progress towards your ideal state. Plus, you can start, at this very moment, to enjoy the journey.
