How to become an overnight success
THE LEVEL UP LETTER
Hi All!
That time of the week you all eagerly await is finally here. The Level Up Letter is in your inbox. This week we’re looking at what it takes to become an “overnight” success…. Enjoy!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

OVERNIGHT SUCCESS
Wanted to drop some reminders of what “overnight success” looks like in real life….
Mr. Beast started his Youtube channel in 2011 and no one watched until 2018.
The average time for a company to IPO is 10.1 years
Lionel Messi said, “I start early, and I stay late, day after day, year after year. It took me 17 years and 114 days to become an overnight success.”
Rickie Lee Jones won Best New Artist in 1980 after singing her entire life and playing tiny venues for over 5 years.
Gary Vee spent years building content that no one watched, sharing his thoughts on business, and building companies before he was a “success”
There are examples of this everywhere you look. Next time you see something and think, “they’re so lucky!” or “that’s an overnight success” consider how much of the picture you’re missing.
THE SUCCESS FORMULA

DECISION
Decide on what you want to be successful at and to what level
Do you want to own 100 rental units? Do you want to build a business that does 5M in revenue? Do you want to grow the world’s biggest pumpkin? - Our advice is to know your level of commitment. How long are you willing to work on this? 1 year? 5 years? Forever?EDUCATION
Learn the game you’re playing
You’ve got to know the rules of the game and study those who have been successful before you. Word of warning: Don’t get caught in educational paralysis. Set a time frame or set what you need to know ahead of time and then make sure you get to step 3.ACTION
TAKE ACTION
Do the things. Make offers. Ask for referrals. Send the email. Wake up earlier. The only way you become successful is by taking action.CONSISTENCY
Keep Doing It
Even when it’s boring. You’re tired. You got rejected. Keep going. Truly successful people outperform everyone else by being consistent.
“IT’S A MARATHON NOT A SPRINT”
It’s hard not to start your pace in a sprint. Especially if you’re running your own company, working at a start-up, or just excited about this new adventure you’re on. Eventually, you need to pace yourself. Realize the finish line is going to take time to reach and settle in for the long run.
Everyone will see the highlight of you finishing the race. Few will see the training sessions. The mile markers you’ve run past. The injuries you’ve overcome. The countless pairs of shoes you’ve gone through to make it to the finish line. So when they say, “It’s so awesome you just got up and did that!” you’ll know what it took to get there. As long as you’re willing to start.
What will you accomplish by the finish line of your life?
