The Level Up Letter - Vol. 30 - BE BORING
If you truly want to build something special, you need to be boring.
THE LEVEL UP LETTER
Hi All!
Here is your weekly Level Up Letter. Today, we’re diving into a paradoxically exciting concept: Being Boring. While our social feeds are filled with tales of adventures and highlight reels, there’s true power in choosing to work quietly and consistently. We hope you enjoy!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

EMBRACE THE MUNDANE
In a world where everyone seems to be chasing the next big thing, it can feel counterintuitive to do the opposite. But here's the thing: the bedrock of success often lies in routine, in the repetitive grind, in the small actions we repeat day after day.
The most successful people aren’t necessarily the ones who are constantly in the limelight for flashy achievements. More often, they are those who have diligently put in the work, out of sight, refining their crafts and minds. Or if they are in the limelight now, they probably spent years, hunkered down, putting in the hours to get there.

Jobs hunkered down in the garage and Bezos hunkered down in his first office. Doing the “boring” work.
Looking to grow your business? Build a real estate portfolio? Get stronger? Faster? Have more quality family time? You have to put in consistent work that the rest of the world will never see.
FINANCIAL WEALTH THROUGH BOREDOM
Don’t be fooled by the kids driving Lambos on Instagram. Chances are it’s rented and they can barely afford that. (Unless you’re Thach Nguyen) If you want to set up long term wealth, do it the boring way.
Spend Less Than You Make
This means being more boring. Cut the nonessentials, miss out on some experiences. You don’t have to cut it all and live like a monk but you need to make sure your expenses don’t exceed your income.
Build A Reserve (based on your own risk but min 6 months expenses)
Before dumping money into bigger investments you need that rainy day fund. These days there are plenty of high-yield savings accounts to choose from. Andy has been using Wealthfront (We don’t have an affiliate deal with them but you can get 5.5% for 3 months with that link if you’re looking to start)
Invest The Rest
Wealthy people don’t have to work because they put their money to work for them. Put everything above your expenses and savings into investments that earn you a return. Set it and forget it.
On that last one…Fidelity, one of the biggest asset managers in the world, performed a study on their best-performing client brokerage accounts. Over a 10-year period, they found that the highest returns came from the ones where the account holder was dead. The second best were the ones that had forgotten they had investments. Talk about boring!

BORING CHALLENGE
This week, identify one "boring" habit you believe could benefit your future self. Commit to it fully for the next month. This could be as simple as making your bed each morning, reviewing your financials each week, or dedicating time to learn a new skill relevant to your career. Keep track of this habit with a simple checkbox in your daily planner, and observe how this small act of discipline begins to transform your life.
Being boring isn't about shunning excitement or adventure; it's about knowing when the quiet, focused effort is necessary to lay the groundwork for future success and happiness.
