Finding inner joy in other's outer success
THE LEVEL UP LETTER
Hi All!
Here is your weekly Level Up Letter. This week we’re trying to find joy in the success of others. This topic came about from a close friend buying a cabin out in the woods that I’ve heard him talk about for nearly 18 years. The genuine joy I felt for him was immense. He also happened to introduce me to one of the concepts below. I truly hope you find joy in reading this and feel free to forward along if your heart desires.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

SCHADENFREUDE & CONFELICITY
Let’s delve into the dual emotions that can arise from observing the successes and failures of others: Schadenfreude and Confelicity.
Schadenfreude:
Is the pleasure derived from another’s misfortune. While it's a common feeling, and let’s be honest, we’ve all done it. It's often a reflection of our insecurities. “Ha, they couldn’t do it!” You say, not even trying yourself. Individuals with lower self-esteem tend to experience schadenfreude more frequently and intensely.
Confelicity:
Is the joy we feel from someone else’s success. It's a sign of emotional maturity and a positive mindset. When we genuinely celebrate others’ victories, it not only strengthens our relationships but also builds a community that thrives on mutual success. This ripple effect can inspire everyone, creating an environment where support and encouragement are the norms.
A MINDSET SHIFT

“Look at that rich asshole! Wonder who he screwed over.”
If this is your first thought when seeing this image, or more realistically, seeing someone out in the world getting into their fancy car, it’s time for a mindset shift.
Truth be told, that used to be me. I used to think that there was a limited pie and some people hoarded all of it. Or, to become rich and successful you needed to screw people over. Neither of which are true.
First off, there’s no end to the amount of money in the world. The US printed about 6 Trillion Dollars out of thin air in the last 4 years. Secondly, if you want to attract more money, provide more value. The wealthiest people I know were able to build skills that provided the most value for other people.
So now, when I see that person getting into their fancy ride I think two things.
I really hope they LOVE that car, and
I wonder what value they provided to the world?
YOUR CHALLENGE
This week, we challenge you to celebrate someone else’s success openly. Share their achievements with others, congratulate them sincerely, and reflect on the positive impact of their success on the community. Take notice of how this positive reinforcement affects your mood and relationships. Can you genuinely feel happy for someone else’s success?
and PLEASE, share with us when you do it!
