THE LEVEL UP LETTER

Hi All!
Here is your weekly Level Up Letter. Welcome to “Quitter’s Friday”. Technically it’s the second Friday of January but we postponed this letter due to the fires in LA. They call it Quitter’s Friday because most people give up on their New Year Resolutions just TWO WEEKS into the year. In fact, a study done at the University of Scranton shows that 92% of people don’t achieve their goals. But that’s not you, right?

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

WHAT ARE YOU QUITTING EVERY DAY?

It’s easy to chat about New Year’s resolutions or goals that you’ve given up on but I want to discuss another form of quitting. A type of quitting that I believe is far more detrimental. It’s the idea, the adventure, the experience, or the product you quit every single day because you never get started.

Most people quit their dreams either out fear or thinking that you’ll get to it “someday”. Then someday passes you by.

I’ve seen insane results from our clients that have put off an idea for years and years by just getting started.

So, my question to you is…… What have you been quitting by never getting started?

WHY GOALS FAIL

Let’s take a look at the key factors that go into giving up on your goals or failing to hit them.

  1. Lack of Clarity: Many goals aren’t specific enough. Vague goals lead to vague results. “Be more successful” or “Be Healthier” lack the clarity you need to succeed.

  2. Insufficient Planning: Without a clear plan, it's easy to get off track. Goals need actionable steps to be achievable. Failing to plan, is planning to fail.

  3. Waning Motivation: Initial enthusiasm can fade over time, especially without quick wins or visible progress. You have to want your goal enough to stick through the hard.

  4. No Accountability: Without someone to keep us on track, it's easier to let commitments slide.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  1. Understand Your Motivation - It all starts with WHY. You need a driving factor behind your goals to help you push through when things aren’t new and exciting.

  2. Systemetize Them: We implement an OKR system into all our goal setting because it give us and our clients a clear plan and benchmarks to achieve along the way.

  3. Break It Down: Divide your main goal into smaller, manageable tasks to avoid feeling overwhelmed and to track progress.

  4. Celebrate Small Wins: Keep motivation high by recognizing and celebrating small achievements along the way.

  5. Build Accountability: Share your goals with a friend or a coach who can provide support and hold you accountable.
